How many times do you guys struggle to find a parking spot in a mall or around town? Just when you thought you’ve finally found an open space, it turned out to be occupied by a motorcycle or another small vehicle. We Malaysians know this feeling only too well.

After falling for this one too many times, we’ve learned to manage our expectations and try not to get too excited. We locals may have gotten used to it, but how about foreigners? How do they feel about small cars like the Perodua Kancil? This British man shared his story of how he came to dislike them.

Andrew Martin, Co-Founder at South Asia’s Leading Digital News and Content Marketing Platform, posted on his LinkedIn profile sharing his recent experience with the Perodua Kancil. He wrote in his post that he has come to hate the automotive icon. Why? Apparently, for the same reason as us. No surprise there.

“I think it was designed just to inflict psychological torture!!,” he said. The British businessman shared that he has been driving around malls’ parking lots such as Mid Valley Megamall and One Utama for 10 – 20 minutes desperately looking for a parking space only to be disappointed when he found a small tucked away Kancil occupying the space.

“Only to find when I get right up to the space, that’s nicely tucked away out of sight and not visible until you get right up to the spot……is a (Perodua) Kancil parked right there….agghhhhh!! 🤣🤣🤣”. We feel you man, we feel you. Netizens reacted to the post sharing that they can definitely relate to his pain.

Since we’ve all experienced his pain, don’t take this post too seriously. Despite his bad experiences with the automotive icon, Andrew has shared positive stories of his time in Malaysia, like how amazed he is of the people here being multilingual and how he has assimilated into the Malaysian culture.
