This Thursday, we were front and centre to witness Samsung Malaysia’s 2025 Bespoke AI home appliances, designed to make daily routines smarter, easier, and more secure. From a new Side-by-Side Refrigerator, to a Top Load Washer, to the Jet Ultra cordless vacuum — filled to the gills with trick AI features at the tip of your fingers with their SmartThings app and Bixby voice commands. With built-in screens and intuitive features like auto-opening doors, recipe suggestions, and remote control via smartphones, these appliances are set to redefine how we interact with our homes.
Each product brings something unique to the table: the refrigerator monitors food freshness and suggests meals, the washer adjusts water and spin settings based on fabric type for optimal laundry care, and the vacuum adapts suction power depending on floor type to ensure effective cleaning. All devices are supported by Samsung’s advanced Knox security system, now upgraded with post-quantum encryption to safeguard personal data. With these innovations, Samsung is making living a more connected, intelligent, and secure smart home experience for Malaysian households.

Tissot Unveils New Collections At Annual Novelties Launch
A new year means new collections from luxury watchmaker Tissot. At its Novelties Launch 2025 event, we got an early look at what’s coming up in the Tissot lineup. The highlight of the event was the new Tissot PRC 100 Solar collection. The watch features Tissot’s Lightmaster Solar Technology that converts natural and artificial light into energy to power your watch wherever you go. First Largest Haikyu!! Pop-Up Store At 1 Utama
The globally-beloved Japanese volleyball anime and manga series “Haikyu!!” by Haruichi Furudate is making waves in Malaysia with the launch of its first and largest Haikyu!!! Pop-Up Store at 1 Utama Shopping Centre. In partnership with Medialink Group (2230.HK), the pop-up store brings fans an immersive “Haikyu!!” experience with an extensive range of series-inspired merchandise, including 1 Utama-exclusive merchandise and limited-edition collectables available only in Malaysia.
Fans can also dive into the iconic scenes from the anime through the captivating “Haikyu!!”-themed photo zone, and take photos with life-size characters from the anime. To further celebrate the pop-up launch event, 1 Utama, in association with the Kuala Lumpur Volleyball Association (KLVA) and Selangor Volleyball Association (SVA), will host a Mixed Volleyball Championship, bringing the high-energy spirit of “Haikyu!!” to life.

“Kulit Wayang (The Skin)” – Shadows, Myths & Legacy Come to Life
Dain Said is back, and this time he’s teaming up with Nevin Hiong to give us a supernatural thriller that’s anything but typical. “Kulit Wayang (The Skin)” dives deep into family secrets, haunted traditions, and the eerie world of wayang kulit.
It’s not just spooky for fun – this one’s rooted in real culture. With actual Tok Dalang (master puppeteers) like Pok Chu and Abe Mie Gajah Putih in the film, it feels more like a tribute to heritage than a regular ghost story.
Shot across the beautiful but mysterious landscapes of Kelantan and Terengganu, the movie stars Fattah Amin, Pekin Ibrahim, and Luna Ariko, who also performs the haunting theme song “Bintang.” Whether you’re into local myths, old-school horror, or just want something different, Kulit Wayang offers a chilling yet meaningful ride through shadows, legacy, and everything in between.

Skechers just dropped its first-ever collab with a local artist, and it’s a stunner. Teaming up with Malaysian visual artist Haris Rashid, the new “SkechVibe Collection” brings Malaysia’s rich biodiversity to life through fashion – think oversized tees and canvas totes featuring hornbills, kantan flowers, butterflies, and wau bulan-inspired designs.
The launch event at The Exchange TRX had art lovers and fashion fans mingling in a space that felt more like a mini art fest than a typical brand rollout. Haris treated guests to a live painting session, giving everyone a closer look at his creative process and the inspirations behind the collection.

Songkran @ 1 Utama Shopping Centre
The vibrant customs of Thailand’s most beloved festival will be brought to the heart of Kuala Lumpur when Malaysia hosts a lavish Songkran Festival celebration. The boldly rising tiger, a representation of aspiration and resolve, is featured in the new design against a contemporary colour scheme of deep blue, vibrant orange, and high-end silver.
