Jennifer Gates, the daughter of Microsoft founder Bill Gates, finally tied the knot with her boyfriend, millionaire equestrian Nayel Nassar on Saturday (16th October). As per Daily Mail, the couple were secretly married in a Muslim service just a day before the wedding reception.
The main factor on why the marriage of the daughter of one of the richest men in the world was held in accordance to the Islamic customs, was due to the fact that her husband is from an Egyptian Muslim background. The British publication further reported that the private Muslim ceremony was held on Friday night in the garden of the family’s 142-acre estate in North Salem, New York.

Although the cost was USD 2 million (~ RM8 million), the wedding reception wasn’t a large affair. It is understood that only 300 guests were invited to be apart of the happy occasion. The guests who were invited mostly consisted of the bride and groom’s family and close friends, along with a few celebs as well as politicians in attendance.
Georgina Bloomberg, daughter of former New York mayor Michael Bloomberg, was also among the invitees who were spotted attending the event. Another interesting highlight that’s worth mentioning was that the wedding reception was also the first joint appearance for Bill and Melinda Gates. If you recall, the couple officially divorced back in August after 27 years of marriage.
Jennifer’s parents jointly walked their 25-year-old daughter down the aisle. For the evening, the bride opted for a custom Vera Wang wedding dress, complete with a long veil. As reported by the tabloid, the event started shortly after 4pm. Bill was spotted wearing a dark suit, while Melinda was wearing a flowing evening dress.
The guests, who attended the wedding, let out a big cheer shortly after the lovebirds were officially pronounced husband and wife. After that, Bill joined his daughter in dancing to Elton John’s iconic song, “Can You Feel The Love Tonight”. After the conclusion of the reception, both Jennifer and her beau conducted several private wedding photo sessions in their residential area.
