Astro has announced that the All Asia Broadcast Center (AABC) in Bukit Jalil will be closed for the next 2 days to undergo a thorough sanitisation.

This comes after it was confirmed that one of its staff was tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday on 5th April (Sunday). The employee, who is part of the transportation team for its Outside Broadcast division, is currently seeking treatment at a government hospital.

The official statement reads:

“We wish to emphasise that health and safety of our employees is our biggest priority. We are working to identify those who have come in contact with the employee concerned. As a precautionary measure, our Bukit Jalil broadcast center will be closed today for full sanitization and reopens on 8th April.

Astro is committed to safety measures at the office to keep its employees safe. These include increased frequency and level of cleaning of its offices, providing hand sanitisers, encouraging social distancing at the cafes and lifts, taking temperatures of all employees entering its premises, cancelled shows with live audience and public events and many more.”

Despite its temporary closure, rest assured that Astro services in your home will go on as usual. The company has already carried out contingency plans to remain operational.
