Cue the tears, ARMYs, BTS’s oldest member Jin (real name Kim Seok Jin, 김석진) will be enlisting in the military this week! The 30-year-old is the first member of the popular idol group to be conscripted. For those in the dark, the announcement was made after they successfully wrapped up their “Yet To Come” concert in Busan.
After the concert, BTS’ home label, BIGHIT MUSIC, shared that the members would be proudly moving forward with their military enlistment plans over the next coming years. Shortly after the announcement, it was also revealed that Jin had officially withdrawn his request to delay his military enlistment.
To bid his die-hard fans goodbye ahead of his enlistment, the K-pop star shared a photo of him sporting a buzz haircut on social media. He captioned, “Hehehehehe, it’s cuter than I thought.” Unsurprisingly, the photo immediately caught the attention of K-pop fans around the globe.
Most of them have taken to social media, including Twitter, to share their reaction after seeing Jin’s new hairstyle. “Damn, Jin looks so sexy with that buzzcut,” one ARMY commented. “It’s amazing how Kim Seok Jin slays every single haircut,” added another one. “Seok Jin’s long hair era is now officially over,” another fan expressed.

For those who are wondering, Jin will be enlisting in the military tomorrow (13th December 2022). He is scheduled to be discharged on 12th June 2024.
