The current political situation is currently a hot topic among Malaysians, particularly in the wake of the recent 15th General Election (GE15). As you’re probably aware, the country is currently experiencing a Hung Parliament, as the announcement for the new Government has yet to be made.

In the meantime, members of local media outlets have also been doing their best to keep the public updated on the latest scoop. Yesterday (Wednesday, 23rd November), those who were gathered outside Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s office were lucky enough when the political figure himself came out and treated them to free nasi ayam goreng kunyit (turmeric chicken with rice) for lunch!

“Berita baik, lunch is served” kata DS @anwaribrahim

Let’s decode this. Hahahaha

Tak payah panjang2. Memang tau dah apa maksud dia. Come on Malaysia takkan tak paham lagiiii! https://t.co/VJQq4Qj0mZ

Interestingly, it didn’t take too long for netizens to chime in with their own thoughts on the matter. One Twitter user known as Yon an Wah, in particular, also decided to unravel the meaning behind the meal. He tweeted, “‘Good news, lunch is served,’ said DS @anwaribrahim. Let’s decode this. Hahahaha. I don’t need to come up with a lengthy explanation. I already got what he meant. Come on Malaysia! Don’t you get it!!?

The Twitter user then explained, “‘Lunch is served’ might be referring to the term “justice is served”. This term is always used in court. But for the context of what happened after GE15, it means that JUSTICE (‘Keadilan’, PKR) has been served. The president of PKR, DS Anwar is ready to serve Malaysia!”

“Turmeric chicken with rice. The meal usually comes with the spicy Mat Rock ‘sambal’. The ‘kunyit’ (turmeric) represents the royal colour in Malaysia, yellow. Additionally, the fried chicken represents something that all Malaysians generally like,” he added in another thread.

The ‘sambal’ symbolises all the pain that DSAI had gone through, to the point where he even shed blood after he was physically attacked during his time at the prison back then,” Yon an Wah further added. “The ‘kicap’ (dark soy sauce) represents the black spot in history. When we put all of that were mentioned together, it becomes a scrumptious dish. That’s why DSAI served this meal for lunch today. The dish symbolises all the pain and struggles that he endured, which will ultimately come out as a delicious food to be served to Malaysians.”

Additionally, DS Anwar was also spotted handing some snacks and drinks to the media officials in attendance. In regard to this, the netizen explained, “DSAI also gave them 100Plus drinks, a few boxes of MILO drinks, and a pack of biscuits. The 100Plus drink has two meanings. It represents the number of seats in support of him. 100Plus also symbolises the 10th Prime Minister.”

He added, “The price for the pack of biscuits is RM12.20, which means that DSAI has already gained the majority of the seats on 20th November. The biscuit is the (Munchy’s) Funmix brand. The biscuit is also a FUNMIX brand which may be an indication that there will be a mix of people from different races and religions in the DSAI administration as PM10 later. DSAI has always been known for his fight for a multiracial (political) party.”

“At the bottom of the biscuit pack, there’s the term “easy pack” written on it. It’s actually a pact, but it’s a hidden message, right? Easy pact. In this case, it’s easy for DSAI to build a pact with other parties. That’s why @anwaribrahim has always been calm. It seems that things have already been sorted out early. Last but not least, the MILO drinks are DSAI’s hidden code for Malaysians. It can be translated as, ‘Dear Malaysians, this time you will be okay.’ It’s okay because he will be leading the country toward becoming the Asian Tiger once again. Roar!” he concluded his thread on Twitter.

The comments section on the Twitter user’s post has been flooded with numerous comments from netizens. Most of them were greatly amused by his effort. Some even compared the theories presented by Yon an Wah to fictional works such as “The Da Vinci Code” and “One Piece”, among others.
