From breaking records with “Rockstar” to showcasing her romantic side with “Moonlit Floor (Kiss Me)”, BLACKPINK (블랙핑크) member Lisa (리사) has been treating fans with back-to-back hits. While it was never directly addressed, many fans knew that all her recent releases were part of her first full-length solo album.
After a long wait, the Thai-born superstar has officially announced her debut solo album, “ALTER EGO”. The album is slated to release on 28th February 2025, and will be available in digital and physical formats. Lisa has also unveiled the project’s cover art and the album’s teaser video. As we prepare for the release of “ALTER EGO”, here are five fun facts about the highly-anticipated project:
This Will Be Lisa’s First Full-Length Album As A Solo Artist

Many would know by now that Lisa made her solo debut in 2021 with “Lalisa”, the single album with the hit track “Money”. However, this upcoming album will be her first full-length album as a solo artist. It’s also her debut album under her self-founded label, LLOUD, which she established after leaving YG Entertainment in 2023. It also marks the second full-length solo album from a BLACKPINK member, after Rosé’s (로제) “Rosie”.
There Will Be 12 Tracks In Total

As with most full-length albums, this upcoming project will have a lot of new songs. According to official sources, “ALTER EGO” will contain 12 tracks in total. The tracklist includes the already-released singles “Rockstar”, “New Woman (featuring Rosalía)”, and “Moonlit Floor (Kiss Me)”. Some fans also suggest that Lisa will release another single before the album drops in February 2025.
The Five Versions Of The Physical Albums Each Tell A Different Story

After announcing the album, LLOUD also unveiled the five versions of the physical albums. According to the official posters, the five albums are named “Vixi”, “Kiki”, “Speedi”, “Roxi” and “Sunni”. These five versions represent the five characters Lisa emulates on the album, each with its unique personality. She also teased these five alter egos in her 3-minute-long teaser video.
Lisa Had A Lot Of Creative Control For This Project

Lisa reportedly has a lot of creative control over her first album, given that it’s her first release under her independent label. In an interview with Billboard, she said, “I’m trying to figure it out, the tracklist and everything, what I can change in there.” She also teased a variety of genres, saying, “I think they’re (the public) going to be shocked at how capable I am at doing so many things.”
“ALTER EGO” Has Already Broken Records Before Its Official Release

Even before the album officially drops, it has already broken a few records. As mentioned earlier, “ALTER EGO” will feature “Rockstar”, which previously racked up an astonishing 32.4 million views on YouTube in the first 24 hours, marking the biggest debut for a solo K-pop artist in 2024 on the platform. Lisa’s debut album, “Lalisa”, was also the first K-pop album to hit a billion streams on Spotify, so many fans are hoping to give the star another place in the billions club.
We still have a few more months to go before “ALTER EGO” is available, but we’re sure it’ll be one of the biggest debut albums! Meanwhile, check out the official teaser video below:
