First it was shopping malls, now it appears that several banks have also been affected by Covid-19.
Just today (Thursday, 1st October) alone, it was reported that at least 2 Maybank branches in Kuala Lumpur are currently closed, while an employee from Alliance Bank had contracted the deadly virus.
In the 2 separate notices issued by Maybank, the Sri Petaling and Wangsa Maju outlets are now closed after “possible exposure to a case involving an external person“. The public is informed that the deep cleaning is necessary “as part of our stringent precautionary measures to protect the health and wellbeing of customers and employees at all times“.
As such, customers are advised to perform transactions either online or via mobile banking channels. For those who need to carry out physical transactions, you may visit the nearest Maybank branch in the vicinity. Folks in Sri Petaling can visit the branch at Jalan Kuchai Lama, while those near Wangsa Maju can visit the branch at Setiawangsa or Taman Melawati.
Elsewhere, Alliance Bank Malaysia has also issued a statement, informing that one of its non-client facing employees had tested positive for Covid-19 after returning from Sabah during the weekend, on 27th September.
