Staying true to its spirit, AirAsia continues to champion affordable travel for Malaysians, reuniting families and loved ones across the country with the operation of 4,434 flights throughout the Chinese New Year travel period from 12th to 24th February 2026.

To cater for increased demand during one of the busiest travel periods of the year, AirAsia has added 150 additional domestic flights, ensuring more seats and greater flexibility for guests travelling to celebrate this special time with their nearest and dearest.

Dato’ Captain Fareh Mazputra, General Manager of AirAsia Malaysia, said: “As the airline with the largest domestic connectivity in Malaysia and a leading market share of 61% by capacity, we are pleased to continue supporting government initiatives to ensure Malaysians are able to travel more affordably during peak festive periods. This coming Chinese New Year, AirAsia is making travel more accessible with subsidised all-in one-way fares of up to RM600*, including a complimentary 20kg baggage allowance, from various hubs in Peninsular Malaysia to destinations in East Malaysia, in addition to our fixed-fare initiatives that were announced earlier this month. With all these extra flights, there are still plenty of seats up for grabs.”

Key hubs including Kuala Lumpur (KUL), Penang (PEN) and Johor Bahru (JHB) will see enhanced connectivity to AirAsia destinations across East Malaysia, supporting smooth and convenient travel between Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia during the peak holiday period. Flights are available from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu, Bintulu, Kuching, Labuan, Miri, Sibu, Sandakan and Tawau; Penang to Kota Kinabalu and Kuching; Johor Bahru to Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Miri, Sibu and Tawau; as well as Kota Bharu to Kota Kinabalu and Kuching.

AirAsia encourages all guests travelling this festive season to self check-in via airasia.com or the AirAsia MOVE app, available up to 14 days prior to the departure date, and to use the e-Boarding Pass to board the flight in order to avoid congestion at the airport. For a smooth and seamless travel experience, guests are advised to arrive early at the airport. Baggage drop counters open three (3) hours before departure for international flights, and two (2) hours prior for domestic services.

*Fares quoted are subsidised all-in one-way fares, with a ceiling fare of RM600, including a complimentary 20kg checked baggage allowance, passenger service charge, regulatory service charges, fuel surcharges and other applicable fees. Valid for selected flights only. Terms and conditions apply.
