A special aircraft carrying Malaysians from Wuhan has safely arrived this morning (Tuesday, 4th February), at 5:57am.

The 133 passengers on board include 107 people who were stranded during the lockdown in Wuhan. According to Bernama, 88 of them are locals while 19 of them are non-citizen couples.

In addition, the AirAsia AK8264 flight, which departed from the Wuhan Tianhe International Airport, also carried 12 aircraft crews, 8 humanitarian personnels as well as 6 officers from the Malaysian embassy in Beijing.

The Health Ministry revealed earlier that all of the passengers, as well as the flight crews will undergo mandatory medical checkups at KLIA’s air disaster unit (ADU). Those who were affected with symptoms of coronavirus will be put to quarantine immediately. On the other hand, the rest will be sent to the monitoring centre for further examination.

However, it was recently revealed that a number of Malaysians who were supposed to join the flight have failed to do so due to logistic issues, as some of them were located outside of Wuhan. Additionally, a few of them have been facing with transportation difficulties. The initial number of 141 passengers on board was cut down to only 107.

In another news, Oriental Daily recently reported about a Chinese woman who managed to scare a thief away after she claimed that she was infected with coronavirus. The lady was sleeping in her bedroom when a masked man entered her house.

As he attempted to rape her, the woman started coughing and said, “I just came back from Wuhan and I already have symptoms of an infection. So I stayed home and isolated myself”. The shocked man then fled the scene with her handphone and 80 yuan (RM47) in hand.

The 25-year-old culprit eventually surrendered to the cops and was put into administrative detention.
