It’s an unfortunate reality that some of our favourite male stars may not be as clean cut and innocent as they appear. Recently, South Korean actor Lee Yikyung (이이경) was accused of engaging in inappropriate behaviour with a female fan, sparking heated debate online.
On 20th October 2025 (Monday), a female netizen posted on social media, accusing the actor of predatory behaviour. In the post, the anonymous individual claimed that Lee Yikyung has sent many inappropriate messages to her, asking for sexual favours. While some conversations appeared to be consensual, the alleged victim explained that she was playing along to collect more evidence. She also said the purpose of the post was to expose the actor’s true personality.

It’s believed the interaction between the two began through Instagram messages and later moved to the KakaoTalk messaging app. In one screenshot shared, Lee Yikyung appeared to ask the victim about her bra size. He also allegedly told the victim that he would have several men rape her. There were also conversations where the actor reportedly asked for the victim to share photos of her private parts, and then cursed at her when she refused to.
The post shocked netizens, many of whom began criticising the actor for his behaviour. Lee Yikyung’s agency, Sangyoung ENT, then responded to the rumours, vehemently denying the allegations. The company also argued that the individual who posted the accusations had a history of fabricating stories and asking for money. The statement sparked heated debate, questioning the validity of the original post.

In response, the victim shared a follow-up post, denying the blackmail allegations. She also shared more evidence, confirming that the account she was conversing with belonged to Lee Yikyung. While Korean netizens are still on the fence about the issue, many foreigners sided with the victim. Some also pointed out other instances that supports the claim of the actor’s predatory behaviour, including him seemingly making rape jokes on social media.
As of now, it’s unclear whether Lee Yikyung and his agency would take legal action against the accuser. However, some netizens argued that the actor should provide proof of his innocence if the claims were false. What are your thoughts on this?
