After moving to the Philippines, it appears Malaysian actor Ben Amir is ready to welcome another milestone in his life. The star recently sparked marriage rumours after welcoming his girlfriend into Islam.
On 10th November 2025 (Monday), the actor shared on his Instagram account that his partner has recently converted to Islam. In his post, Ben shared a message to his partner on her new journey, writing, “Welcome to Islam. Take your time, learn slowly, enjoy the beauty, and know you’re never alone. Much love & may Allah always protect you. May this journey bring you closer to peace, purpose, and your true self”.

According to reports, Ben’s girlfriend is a native of the Philippines named Maiya. The “Legasi: Bomba the Movie” actor previously spoke about their relationship, revealing that the two have been together for some time since meeting two years ago. However, he denied that his decision to move to the Philippines was because of his girlfriend, adding that he chose to live abroad because he wanted to start a new life.
Ben also previously mentioned that the couple doesn’t have any plans to marry soon. However, many took Maiya’s recent conversion to Islam as a sign that the two have changed their minds. Fans and friends have since congratulated the pair, saying they’re “one step closer” to tying the knot. As of now, the couple hasn’t confirmed any marriage plans, but from the looks of things, family and friends have already given them their blessings.

At the same time, Maiya has expressed gratitude for all the support she received over her conversion. She also shared some photos taken at the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) on her Instagram. Through her Threads account, Maiya revealed that she chose Liana Alara as her Muslim name, calling it “a name that carries new meaning, peace, and light in this new chapter of my life”
Let’s hope to hear some good news from Ben and Maiya soon. In the meantime, we’d like to congratulate Maiya on her conversion. We wish her the best as she navigates through her new faith.
