August on Prime Video is looking stacked!

Whether you’re into explosive action, gripping thrillers, heartfelt love stories, or a return to beloved classics – there’s something new to stream every week. Here’s what to add to your watchlist:

The Pickup (6th Aug 2025)

In the action-comedy The Pickup, a routine cash pickup takes a wild turn when two mismatched armored truck drivers, Russell (Eddie Murphy) and Travis (Pete Davidson), are ambushed by ruthless criminals led by a savvy mastermind, Zoe (Keke Palmer), with plans that go way beyond the cash cargo.

As chaos unfolds around them, the unlikely duo must navigate high-risk danger, clashing personalities, and one very bad day that keeps getting worse.

Butterfly (13th Aug 2025)

Butterfly is a character-driven spy thriller that explores complex family dynamics within the treacherous world of global espionage.

It’s centred on David Jung (Daniel Dae Kim), an enigmatic, highly unpredictable former US intelligence operative living in South Korea, whose life is blown to pieces when the consequences of an impossible decision from his past come back to haunt him, and he finds himself pursued by Rebecca (Hardesty), a deadly, sociopathic young agent assigned to kill him, and Caddis, the sinister spy organisation she works for.

Betty La Fea, The Story Continues S2 (15th Aug 2025)

Betty la Fea: La Historia Continúa is the 2024 sequel to the iconic Colombian telenovela Yo soy Betty, la Fea. Set more than 20 years later, it follows Betty – now a successful professional and mother – as she secretly rekindles her relationship with Armando after their public divorce.

12 Must-Watch Shows & Movies On Prime Video This August For Fans Of "The Summer I Turned Pretty"

Season 2 explores personal reinvention, family dynamics, and second chances, while staying true to the charm and heart of the original story that made Betty a global icon.

The Siege At Thorn High (15th Aug 2025)

Set in 2027, The Siege at Thorn High follows the journey of Edwin (Morgan Oey). Eighteen years after witnessing an assault on his sister during a riot, Edwin is determined to fulfill her dying wish – to find her child born from the horrific incident. His search leads him to become a teacher at Thorn High School, a school for troubled teens.

There, Edwin faces the unruliest students while searching for his nephew. When he finally discovers the teen, another riot erupts, trapping them in the school and forcing them to fight for their survival against a group of violent students now out for blood.

The Map That Leads To You (20th Aug 2025)

The Map That Leads to You follows Heather, a young woman setting off on an adventure across Europe with her best friends before settling into her perfectly planned life. When she crosses paths with Jack, a magnetic and mysterious stranger, their instant spark ignites an emotional journey neither of them expected.

As their connection deepens, secrets, life choices, and hidden truths will test their bond – and change her life in ways she never imagined. From director Lasse Hallström (Dear John, Safe Haven) comes this adaptation of JP Monninger’s novel about love, destiny, and the courage to choose your own path.

Upload S4 (25th Aug 2025)

Upload is a sci-fi comedy series from Emmy-winning writer Greg Daniels (The Office, Parks and Recreation, King of the Hill), set in a technologically advanced future where holographic phones, self-driving vehicles, AI assistance, and 3D food printers are the norm. And, forget about dying – instead, you’ll be “uploaded” to a virtual reality afterlife, and enjoy all the comforts of a world-class resort. Provided you can afford it.

From “Wednesday” Season 2 to “Aema”: 11 New Shows & Movies To Catch On Netflix This August

In the four-part series finale event, sentient AI rapidly turns evil, threatening to wipe out Lakeview (and the world!). On top of greedy executives, lingering mysteries, plus heartbreak in VR and IRL, our characters are tested like never before. The only way they can get through it all and save humanity from deletion is by teaming up one last time.

The Terminal List: Dark Wolf (27th Aug 2025)

Co-created by The New York Times bestselling author of The Terminal List, Jack Carr, and Season One creator-showrunner David DiGilio, The Terminal List: Dark Wolf is a prequel series with an origin story that follows “Ben Edwards” (Taylor Kitsch) throughout his journey from the Navy SEALs to the clandestine side of CIA Special Operations.

The series is an espionage thriller that explores the darker side of warfare and the human cost that comes with it. It also features Chris Pratt reprising his role as “James Reece.”
