If you’ve ever struggled with glasses slipping off your nose bridge or pinching your cheekbones, you’ll know the frustration of wearing frames that simply weren’t made for Asian faces.
That’s where Pott Glasses comes in – and 10 years later, this homegrown brand is no longer just an eyewear shop, but a movement.
The Kelantan Boys Who Dared to Dream
Back in 2015, childhood friends Aw Tai Hau and Eden Hoong decided Malaysians deserved better. After being inspired by Europe’s fashion-forward eyewear scene, they returned home determined to give locals the same kind of experience: frames that not only worked but made people feel good about wearing them.
Fast-forward a decade, and what started as small pop-up booths has grown into nine branches nationwide – with a cult following that swears by Pott’s personalised styling and Asian-fit frames. “Eyewear should feel like an extension of who you are, not just something you put on because you have to,” said co-founder Eden. “That’s why we’ve curated over 800 styles and built our 4D Eyewear Styling service – so everyone can find frames that actually fit both their face and their lifestyle.”
Glasses That Fit, & Fashion That Speaks
Pott Glasses has carved its identity by blending optical expertise with fashion styling. Their optical stylists don’t just check your prescription – they study your face shape, your daily routine, and even your wardrobe to recommend frames that actually look good on you. Think less medical check-up, more fashion consultation.
It’s a formula that’s worked – so much so that Pott has been spotted on the Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (KLFW) runway, most recently in collaboration with BEHATI, where they unveiled titanium sunglasses inspired by Malay and Peranakan jewellery. Yes, glasses with keris blades at the temples.
A Pop-Up That Feels Like a Party
To mark their 10-year milestone, Pott Glasses launched an immersive pop-up called “Take A Leap of Frame” at The Five @ KPD (running until 5th October). Instead of the usual product display, it’s more of an experience:
- A quiz to discover your “Pott Type.”
- A Collection ‘X’ gallery of their new sunnies line.
- A mini-museum walk-through of their decade-long story.
- Even a colour analysis station where stylists tell you what shades complement your features.
It’s less a shopping trip, more a celebration of how far they’ve come – and how eyewear can be a form of self-expression.
The “Take A Leap of Frame” pop-up runs from now until 5th October 2025 at The Five @ KPD, Kuala Lumpur, featuring the debut of Pott Sunnies Collection ‘X’ and interactive styling experiences.
