All is well in Springfield now that Homer and Marge Simpson aren’t separating after all.
On top of that, here’s more good news ahead of Comic-Con’s “The Simpsons” panel.
According to THR, Harry Shearer has signed a new deal to return to “The Simpsons”, Fox announced on Tuesday (7th July). With the deal, all 6 principal voice actors are confirmed to return for the historic 27th and 28th seasons. The deal is the same as his fellow voice cast – a 2-year deal with an option for another 2 seasons (so a potential 4-year pact) and an estimated $300,000 per episode.
Harry Shearer, who voices iconic Simpsons characters including Mr. Burns, Ned Flanders, Principal Skinner, and Kent Brockman, announced 13th May that he was leaving TV’s longest-running comedy over a contract dispute and, as he phrased it, the “freedom to do other work”.
But that’s alright, he’s back! Or rather, he will be 😉
The new season will feature Bart getting murdered, which will only happen in a Halloween episode that will take place outside the show’s continuity. Homer’s beloved Spider-Pig, a fan-favourite character from “The Simpsons Movie”, will also make a special appearance in the show.
“The Simpsons” will return for its 27th season in before the year ends on Fox.
