Things are not going well for Kris Wu (吴亦凡) ever since numerous nasty allegations surrounding his personal life came to light, all thanks to his rumoured former lover Du Meizhu (都美竹).
Despite denying all the claims, it seems that the singer, who found fame as a member of the K-pop group EXO, is paying the price for the recent controversy, as more and more brands have decided to end their partnership with him. For those interested, feel free to read their official statements below:
1. KANS
- The Shanghai-based skincare brand took to their official Weibo on Sunday (18th July) evening to announce that they have terminated their endorsement contract with Wu.
2. App EtherealSound (Yunting)
- App EtherealSound (Yunting), which is under Chinese Media Group, the predominant state media specialising in radio and TV broadcasting, announced that they have terminated their collaborations with Wu. They have also removed all of his contents from their platforms.
3. Liby
- Through their Weibo account, the laundry detergent brand announced that their collaboration with Wu had officially ended. They wrote, “Liby Brand has ended all brand partnerships with (Kris) Wu Yifan.”
4. Seeyoung
- The shampoo brand also revealed via a statement uploaded on their Weibo account just moments ago that they have terminated Wu’s contract.
5. Tempo
- The tissue brand company revealed in a statement posted on their Weibo earlier today (Monday, 19th July) that they have terminated their working relationships with him.
6. Kangshifu Iced Tea
- Around the same time, the beverage brand also shared that they have ended their partnership with the “XXX: Return Of Xander Cage” star.
7. Lancôme
- As for Lancôme, the French luxury perfume and cosmetics house informed that Wu’s contract ended back in June 2021.
8. Vatti
- The kitchen appliances manufacturer also revealed that their contract with the “Growl” hit-maker ended earlier this month.
9. Honor Of Kings
- The online game “Honor Of Kings” also shared that their working relationship with Wu has already ended some time during the first half of 2021, and his contract was not renewed at that time.
10. Tencent Video
- On 19th July, the Chinese video streaming platform revealed that they’ve sent Wu a contract termination notice for his endorsement and have ended their working relationship on a brand level.
Meanwhile several other household names such as L’oreal, Louis Vuitton, Bvlgari and also Porsche have yet to comment on Wu’s current status as their brand ambassador.
