Popular celebrity Neelofa recently recounted a frightening situation she had in Milan, Italy, right before the country received a lockdown order back in late February.
In an Instagram Live session called “Berseorangan Bersama” with fellow local starlet Nora Danish, Neelofa (or Lofa in short) recalled when she and her team were informed that the Milan Fashion Week 2020 was cancelled, much to their surprise.
“23rd February was one of the last fashion shows held at the city before I went to Paris. At that time, it’s 4:30pm and I was preparing myself for a Michael Kors party scheduled at 6pm. However, we received a text message saying that the event was cancelled,” the “Suri Hati Mr. Pilot” said in the chat.
The conversation continued, “It’s kind of shocking because prior to that, people went out and about as usual. Even local tourist spots were crowded. In fact, no one was talking about the Covid-19 outbreak as if everything was normal.”
“So, we decided to stay at the hotel and fortunately we didn’t go out to grab some food. Instead, we took our time to pack our stuffs to leave for Paris the next morning. Once I arrived at the city, I received the news about the Milan lockdown. Thankfully, we were able to flee. Otherwise, we’d be stuck at the place,” shared Lofa, feeling relieved.
Neelofa further added that the situation at the airport in Italy was flooded with people with their face masks on. “At that time, a lot of them were covering their faces. Suddenly, on that day itself, the number of cases for Covid-19 increased,” the former “MeleTOP” MC continued.
Additionally, the Pasir Mas-born beauty urged the public to always follow the rules and instructions implemented by the government. “In Malaysia, we’re taking it step-by-step to say the least. Unlike Italy, the locals received the order on the spot,” shared Lofa.
“They were struggling to digest on what had happened. But they had no choice but to follow the instructions,” Lofa said in the IG live session, before concluding, “So, we should learn from them and be more calm, which I believe is still lacking among Malaysians these days.”
Wise words, Lofa! Another reason to love her even more. <3
