Picture this: You’re cycling on a well-paved, smooth and flat path, alongside a beautiful, picturesque lake and a thousand species of flora on either side of you as that breeze of fresh air hits you. Perfect, isn’t it? Well, if the very thought of it makes you feel good, imagine how good it would feel to actually do it.

For your convenience, we have compiled a list of the most scenic parks and gardens, aesthetic vibes and fascinating attractions, suitable for an amazing day of relaxation. But don’t forget to check the weather. You don’t want to get soaked by the rain and ruin your day, right?

1. The Central Park, Desa Park City

Time: 6am – 11pm (Daily)

Location: C-3-1 Plaza Arkadia, 3, Persiaran Residen, Desa Parkcity, 52200 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur

Who wouldn’t want to cycle in the midst of freshly manicured lawns, breathing that fresh air and taking in the sight  of the trees lined up against the 9-foot-wide pathway and the gorgeous man-made lake surrounding it? 2. Taman Tasik Titiwangsa

Time: 6am – 10pm (Daily)

Location: Tasik, Titiwangsa, 53200 Kuala Lumpur

A popular rendezvous point for all ages, Taman Tasik Titiwangsa is a well-maintained park with coconut trees and banyan that brings you shade, perfect for cycling. With a vast area encompassing 95 hectares, you can relax and unwind as you cycle around the 57 hectare lake surrounding the park. Head on over to their Facebook for more info.

3. Putrajaya Botanical Garden

Time: 9am – 12pm, 2pm – 7pm (Daily)

Location: Lebuh Perdana Barat, Presint 1, 62000 Putrajaya, Wilayah Persekutuan Putrajaya

More than 700 species of plants and flowers for you to explore and admire as you cycle down the trail. If you don’t own a bicycle, now worries, as Putrajaya Botanical Garden provides bicycle rental services as well. Overlooking the lake, there are few attractions such as the flower-theme park lighting that is sure to delight your wandering eyes. Visit their Facebook to know more!

4. Perdana Botanical Garden

Time: 7am – 8pm (Daily)

Location: Jalan Kebun Bunga, Tasik Perdana, 55100 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur

Formerly known as Taman Tasik Perdana or Lake Gardens, the garden houses a collection of tropical plants, creating an atmosphere of walking in a real tropical rainforest. You can ride around the Sunken Garden with a star-shaped fountain in its center or enter the lovely Hibiscus Garden that has a 4-metre high waterfall, pools and also fountains.

5. Kepong Metropolitan Park

Time: 6am – 8pm (Daily)

Location: Jln Lingkaran Tengah 2, Kepong Metropolitan Lake-garden, 52100 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur

Although the Kepong Metropolitan Park is famous for the kite-flying activities, cyclists can still have their fair share of fun as well. The trees have been removed, providing minimal shade for the cyclists however, you can still get a great view when the kites take off and the sky transforms into a rainbow of colours.

6. TTDI Park

Time: 6:45am – 7pm (Daily)

Location: Jln Abang Haji Openg, Ttdi Hills, 60000 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur

Another park with a calm setting and the only noise you will hear are the chirping of birds and the chattering of little kids running around. Don’t be intimidated by the jungle-like appearance of the park and enjoy the nature as you ride along the pathway in complete bliss. Visit their Facebook if you are interested!
