Sometimes, we don’t have an explanation for why things happen. We could be living a good life, and minding our own business, and still, be struck by tragedy. Unfortunately, for this Chinese internet celebrity, that tragedy ended her life.
小丽姐 (Xiao Li Jie) was a 36-year-old internet celeb who often shared her daily life with her followers. However, netizens were left shocked when they discovered news that she had been brutally murdered and raped.
According to Chinese media, the woman, surnamed Li, had gone missing on 7th December. Li had allegedly been travelling to Gaozhao City before vanishing after passing Bijia Mountian. A suspect was later arrested, and they were revealed to be a man surnamed Chen. Some claimed Chen had been one of Li’s followers who backed her financially.
More details regarding her case were later released online. Some alleged that Li had been raped before being murdered. There were also claims that her body had been brutalised, which included her tongue and breasts being cut off.
Several have openly wondered if Li had been killed when planning a meetup with her fan, Mr. Chen. However, others have stated their disagreement, stating Li had only regarded being an internet celebrity as a side hobby. Li’s relatives have also requested netizens to leave the case to the police.
Currently, there is no news about the murderer’s motive. However, many are hoping they will be brought to justice. Her followers have also been mourning the loss of the optimistic and cheery influencer.
