If there’s one thing you should know about SHINee’s Minho (샤이니 민호), is that he’s one of K-pop’s most athletic idols. The 33-year-old recently participated in a triathlon in South Korea, showcasing his athletic prowess and good looks.
Over the weekend, the idol participated in the Chungju Tangeum Lake National Triathlon Race in Seoul. As with most triathlon races, Minho had to swim, bike and run over various distances while competing for the fastest overall time. For this specific race, the distances for each sport were 750m for swimming, 40km for biking and 10km for running. According to reports, the idol completed the race in 2 hours and 18 minutes.

Since the race was public, fans got to see the idol compete in the triathlon in person. Photos and videos of Minho at the event made their way onto social media, sparking interest amongst netizens. Most of the comments were stunned by the idol’s “unreal” visuals, noting that he looked like he was in a photo shoot for a sports magazine. Some fans even called him a Ken doll because of his toned figure and blond hair.
Surprisingly, the triathlon isn’t the only sporting event that Minho participated in recently. Last month, the idol challenged himself in the HYROX competition in Taipei. The sporting competition combines 8 kilometres of running and eight functional workout stations, with participants alternating between running and functional exercises. Minho reportedly completed the event with an impressive record of 1 hour and 4 minutes.

The SHINee member has also shared his HYROX experience through his personal YouTube channel. Fans have expressed awe at Minho’s athleticism, arguing that it isn’t easy to maintain his fitness level. Some even said the idol inspired them to become active. Funnily, some fans also joked that they can no longer tell whether Minho is an idol or an athlete, given his love for working out.
We wonder what sports competition Minho will participate in next. Whatever it is, we’re sure he’ll give it his all. In the meantime, check out some videos from his recent triathlon and his HYROX event:
