Aside from the bride, the groom and the extravagant celebration, one of the main things guests look forward to at a wedding is the food. You can almost always count on mouth-watering dishes being served at celebrity weddings, especially when no expense is spared.
Last year, actress Eyka Farhana shared the exciting news that she was engaged to footballer Akhyar Rashid. The couple recently tied the knot in Langkawi, where they held a grand and beautiful ceremony attended by close friends and family. Photos and videos of the event have circulated all over social media, but one of the things that caught people’s attention was the cake.
On Tuesday (7th May), Leena Bakery Langkawi shared a video on their TikTok channel showcasing the wedding cake served at the reception. The large white cake was topped with an assortment of berries, including strawberries and blueberries. At the centre of the cake, a heart shape made out of strawberries added a sweet, romantic touch. “Thank you for ordering from us,” the company wrote in the captions.
The TikTok post has since gone viral, with many expressing curiosity about the dessert. The bakery took the time to respond to some of the netizens’ questions, explaining that the cake is a Belgian cake, weighing approximately 15kg and measuring 21 inches in diameter. Despite its relatively simple design, the cake came with a hefty price tag. When asked about the cost, the bakery revealed that it was priced at around RM3,500!
Of course, the price of a wedding cake depends on the type of cake requested by the customer, and a quick look through Leena Bakery Langkawi’s TikTok channel and IG page shows they have quite the reputation for creating stunning, beautifully crafted desserts. With that in mind, it’s no surprise that Eyka Farhana and her husband, Akhyar Rashid, chose the bakery to make the cake for their wedding.
