In the latest docuseries, “No Taste Like Home With Antoni Porowski”, Malaysian-born actor Henry Golding embarks on a heartfelt journey to reconnect with his Iban heritage in Sarawak. Guided by food and wine expert Antoni Porowski, the series delves into the rich culinary traditions.
The six-part docuseries, now streaming on Disney+, features Antoni Porowski accompanying celebrities like Henry to explore their familial roots through the lens of food. In the actor’s episode, the duo travels to Borneo, where they immerse themselves in the local culture, unearthing family stories and savouring traditional Iban dishes.
The pair ventured through Sarawak and indulged in its unique local delicacies. In a recent Zoom interview with The Straits Times, Antoni Porowski shared that, among the celebrities featured, “Henry was by far the most experienced and knowledgeable about his family history on his maternal side.”
However, he revealed that the 38-year-old celeb still discovered new aspects of his heritage and even eagerly tried live sago grubs, a delicacy among several Bornean tribes. The “Queer Eye” star also mentioned that he tried durian during his visit and claimed it tasted like a stinky, overly ripe camembert blended with very sharp garlic.

“No Taste Like Home With Antoni Porowski” also features other renowned personalities, including Florence Pugh, Awkwafina, James Marsden, Issa Rae, and Justin Theroux, each exploring their unique ancestral backgrounds.
