1. Michelle Trachtenberg
On 27th February, it was announced that “Gossip Girl” star Michelle Trachtenberg had passed away at the age of 39. According to reports, police were called to her apartment after she was found unconscious and unresponsive. The cause of death has yet to be determined, but authorities currently suspect no foul play. Her fellow “Gossip Girl” cast members and creators have paid tribute to her following the tragic news.
2. Roberta Flack
Another most recent celebrity to leave us: Grammy-award-winning singer Roberta Flack is best known for her iconic rendition of “Killing Me Softly With His Song”, originally by Lori Lieberman.
According to an official statement by her rep, the artist passed away on 24th February (Monday) at 88 years old. The cause of death was not mentioned. “She died peacefully surrounded by her family. Roberta broke boundaries and records. She was also a proud educator,” the statement reads.
3. Kim Saeron (김새론)

One of the most devastating pieces of news in the Korean entertainment world: actress Kim Saeron was found dead at her home, and it was revealed that she had planned to return to acting after years of hiatus. Many of her celebrity friends attended her funeral, including PENTAGON’s Kino, who wrote a heartbreaking tribute after she was laid to rest. She was 24 years old.
4. Lee Yoo Joo (이유주)

Renowned yoga instructor Lee Yoo Joo passed away on 18th February at 35 years old. The Yogaum yoga studio, which she owned, delivered the devastating announcement on social media. “According to the wishes of the bereaved family, there will be no separate wake or funeral. Instead, we will set up a space at Yogaum where visitors can pay their final respects. Please pray for the soul of teacher Lee Yoo Joo, who was beautiful, pure, and brightened the world with her special talents, so she may rest in peace,” the studio wrote. Yoo Joo is best known for her appearance on the MBC variety show “Infinite Challenge”, where she taught yoga to the cast members.
5. Jesus Guerrero
Jesus Guerrero is the person to thank for making some of your favourite celebrities look good during photoshoots and on the red carpet. The famous hairstylist has worked with Kylie Jenner, a client and friend since 2019, Jennifer Lopez, Demi Moore, Charli XCX, Lisa, Katy Perry, Shay Mitchell, Jessica Alba and Rosalía.
He was admitted to a hospital after travelling home where he later passed away. His agency The Wall Group wrote, “Jesus was a beloved artist, friend, and a special soul whose kindness and craft profoundly touched the lives of many. We are heartbroken and devastated by this tragic loss.”
6. Zakaria Ariffin

Playwright, actor and stage director Zakaria Ariffin passed away from a stroke at 73 years old. Malaysian National Writers Association (PENA) president Dr Mohamad Saleeh Rahamad confirmed the tragic news that the artist was pronounced dead at 2:40am on 19th February. Zakaria received numerous awards for his writing including the 2001 SEA Write Award, and the 2008 National Arts Award in the Theatre Arts (Scriptwriting).
7. Kokoro Urin

Seven-member Japanese idol group Mazari has announced the passing of member Kokoro Urin via their official Twitter account. The singer died the day after revealing she would be taking a hiatus due to a spinal injury. Mazari expressed their sorrow at the loss of their member and thanked fans for their overwhelming love and support for Urin over the years. The group also stated that, in line with the wishes of Urin’s family, details of the funeral would not be made public.
