Earlier this year, we were introduced to five Malaysians who will be competing in the second season of “Chuang Asia” for a chance to secure one of the nine spots in a debuting group. The reality show also features accomplished idols as guest mentors, who will help evaluate the contestants and offer advice on becoming idols and navigating the entertainment industry.
BLACKPINK (블랙핑크)’s Lisa (리사) recently made an appearance as a guest mentor on the show, and her interactions with the trainees have gone viral on social media. Here are some of our favourite moments from her episode:
1. A trainee gifted a Labubu doll to Lisa

Some of you may be aware of the recent surge in popularity of the Labubu figures, all thanks to Lisa. It’s no surprise that the idol is a huge fan of the dolls, and what better way to impress your guest mentor than by gifting her the popular collectable? The “Born Again” songstress screamed with joy after one of the trainees, Dongdong, handed her a Labubu keychain, which earned him an A grade.

What’s more impressive than showcasing your charm with a heart-shaped finger sign? Doing a backflip first. At one point during the episode, contestant ALTON performed a backflip before finishing with the finger heart gesture to Lisa, leaving her speechless as it was her first time witnessing such a thing

Some of you may have watched the episode where GOT7’s BamBam flirted with contestant Hu Yetao after a breathtaking performance. It seemed that even Lisa couldn’t resist his charms, as the trainee showed off his dance moves and even got the Thai artist to join him. Since Lisa and BamBam are good friends, we’re sure Yetao will come up in their next conversation.

Training to become an idol is not easy, as it often means being far away from home for months or even years in pursuit of your dreams. A contestant, Hikaru, shared his story of feeling homesick and revealed that they were not allowed to use their phones or step outside during their free time, which surprised Lisa. The BLACKPINK member ‘started a revolution’ against the staff for not allowing the trainees to enjoy themselves. She then offered to treat them to sushi later that day, much to everyone’s excitement.
