The conspiracies are true, the sky is falling (not really), and there’s now a new budget iPhone! It was announced yesterday (Wednesday, 19th February) that the Apple iPhone 16 series has welcomed a new member to the family: the iPhone 16e, a successor to the 3rd-generation SE, proving all the rumours about the model right.
Life just whizzes by, and a new year means a new iPhone. Although, keep in mind that Apple would usually announce their new line of products in September so there’s still a chance that the iPhone 17 will be announced at that time. For now, let’s get into the details of the upcoming iPhone 16e:

Simple and straightforward, the 16e is available in one screen size and two colours, with a choice of three storage capacities. Just like its SE predecessor, the 16e is a scaled-down version of the current lineup, housed in the body of an iPhone 14 non-Pro. It inherits a slightly toned-down version of the current A18 chip with one less GPU core, the action button, and a single camera.
No frills, just the essential Apple experience at a more accessible price point. This means the 6.1-inch 16e, which comes in only two colours—black and white—will cost you the following:

6.1″ iPhone 16e
- 128GB – RM2,999
- 256GB – RM3,499
- 512GB – RM4,499
Pre-orders start tomorrow, 21st February 2025 (Friday), with official availability the following week on Friday (28th February). Will you be buying one for yourself or your loved one?
