It has been over a decade since K-pop idol group 2AM (투에이엠) last performed in Malaysia. The vocalists delivered a memorable performance over the weekend at the Mega Star Arena, Kuala Lumpur but that was the only event during their visit.
Members Jo Kwon (조권) and Jinwoon (정진운) shared what they’ve been up to with their fellow members before and after their concert in KL, and one of the activities included meeting fashion icon Jimmy Choo. Here is the story:
Jo Kwon posted a series of photos and videos on his Instagram showcasing 2AM’s activities in Malaysia, which included lounging at the hotel and exploring the city. As mentioned, one of the highlights of their visit was meeting fashion icon Jimmy Choo. “It was cold, then hot. I enjoyed the rain, had breakfast, worked out, swam, got a massage, performed at a concert, and dined with my fellow members. Like Jeong Jinwoon and Im Seulong, I hit 61.6kg. Above all, meeting my Malaysian fans after 14 years, and meeting Jimmy Choo, was truly amazing✨,” he wrote in his captions.
In the photos with the Penang-born fashion designer, the 2AM members were seen wearing Songket-inspired jackets, a gift given to many special guests upon meeting him. Another well-known K-pop idol to have received a similar gift was former Super Junior-M member Henry Lau (헨리/刘宪华) in 2023. The “Echoes of Love’s Journey” artists were not alone during their meetup with Jimmy Choo, as they were also joined by designer Peony Sin Hui Wen, the creator behind their Songket outfits.
In a follow-up post, Jo Kwon shared behind-the-scenes photos and videos from 2AM’s concert in KL, as well as a glimpse of his hotel room in PARKROYAL Collection Kuala Lumpur. Fans, mostly Malaysians, reacted to the posts, with many thanking the group for returning to entertain them once again. Others jokingly expressed jealousy over the members meeting Jimmy Choo and receiving the special gifts.
Meanwhile, the other members didn’t share much of their KL trip on their socials but Jinwoon did post a funny clip of them doing the Meow Meow La La La TikTok trend at the hotel swimming pool. It’s clear that 2AM had a wonderful time in Malaysia, and we hope their next visit will be even more exciting and memorable.
