After GOT7 (갓세븐) announced their comeback, fans are eagerly awaiting the chance to see the group perform on stage again. The boys recently held their NESTFEST concert in Seoul, South Korea, from 31st January to 2nd February. Along with new music from the band’s latest album “Winter Heptagon”, the show also featured solo performances from all the members.
It shouldn’t come as a surprise when GOT7’s families visited them backstage to congratulate them on their successful performance. However, fans were not expecting Jackson Wang (王嘉爾/왕잭슨) to pose for a group photo when a certain member’s father was present. Here’s why:

As seen in the screenshots above, the boys of GOT7 were getting ready to pose for a photo with their family members backstage after the concert. Many were particularly surprised when they saw Jackson Wang joining the session, especially since he was standing right next to and embraced Mark Tuan (마크투안/段宜恩)’s father, Raymond. This was surprising because, according to fans, Raymond had previously made remarks about the other GOT7 members, particularly Jackson.
From screenshots shared by fans on Reddit, one of the most controversial comments he made dates back to 2014 when he appeared to scold Jackson for speaking over his members during a concert. Another one was in 2022 when Raymond discredited GOT7’s achievement of reaching No.1 in 95 countries on iTunes, claiming that none of the countries listed were English-speaking ones.
That being said, there has been no information suggesting that Jackson himself harboured ill feelings towards Mark’s father over his poor behaviour or remarks. Regardless, fans were upset by what Raymond Tuan had said on Twitter during that time. From the latest video post, it seems there is no bad blood between the GOT7 members and Mark’s father.

Some fans suggested that the issue may have been resolved, while others praised Jackson for always being a forgiving person. Although Jackson has never addressed Raymond’s past controversial comments, he made it clear in his latest Instagram post that what truly matters to him is his relationship with his fellow GOT7 members. “Thanks for being my friends in this toxic world. At the end of the day, what matters is the relationship and connection with each other. We carry on and explore individually, but as a family, we are always there,” he wrote.
From that caption alone, even if Jackson Wang was aware of the past issue, it’s clear that he has never let anything come between him and his members. Were you among the fans surprised by the recent meetup, or did you have no idea what was going on?
