In Malaysia, it is tradition for mothers to go through a confinement period after giving birth; this is to allow their bodies to rest and recover from childbirth. New moms are also expected to avoid certain food and drinks to help speed up the recovery process.
That being said, every mother experiences the confinement period differently. Some may need more time to rest, while others may face little to no difficulties after giving birth. Regardless, people will always be concerned about one’s health, and Datin Intan Najuwa had fans worried after they saw her consuming something they believed she shouldn’t.

Recently, actress Intan Najuwa, who welcomed a baby girl earlier this month, posted a video on her Instagram page showcasing the different drinks from her own coffee brand Dico Brew. The star introduced each flavour and shared brief details about the products. As seen in the video below, all the drinks appeared to be iced.
The video has since sparked concern among netizens, as it is commonly advised that mothers in their confinement period avoid drinking iced drinks. This belief stems from the idea that iced drinks can be harmful to the body after childbirth and may lead to infection or inflammation. However, there is no substantial scientific evidence to support this.

After noticing that her video post caused her fans to worry about her health, Intan reassured them that iced drinks are not harmful to the body. “When cold water enters the body, it adjusts to body temperature. So, there shouldn’t be any problem once the water reaches the stomach,” she said in the comments section.
Whether the drink was cold or warm, there shouldn’t be any doubt that the 28-year-old is taking care of herself, especially for her baby. Based on her latest IG story updates, it appears that Intan Najuwa has been recovering well as she’s back to working at her Dico Brew coffee store in Kuala Lumpur.
