“The Eras Tour” is Taylor Swift’s most successful tour, raking in over US$1 billion (approximately RM4.5 billion) in revenue. However, the tour wouldn’t have been as successful without the crew members who helped, so how did the singer reward her staff?
A social media post has gone viral recently, depicting a letter written by Taylor to one of her many “The Era Tour” crew members. As shown in the handwritten letter, the singer wrote, “Robert, Thank you for your superb work on the U.S. leg of The Eras Tour!! Your well-deserved bonus is $100,000. Love, Taylor”. The crew member revealed that he received this letter with the approximately RM450,000 bonus after the tour’s United States leg.

Many netizens have reacted to the letter, expressing shock at Taylor’s generosity for her crew members. Some even called the bonus amount “life-changing”, especially since it’s on top of the staff’s expected salary. Many also praised her for taking the time to handwrite the letter because it shows how much the star appreciates her crew members. Others joked that they’re open to working with her for her next tour.
According to reports, Taylor gave bonus payments totalling over US$55 million (approximately RM248 million) to her entire touring crew who worked on the US leg. While it’s unknown how much each crew member got, the 50 truck drivers transporting the stage setup and production equipment received US$100,000 each. By the end of the tour, the 35-year-old allegedly distributed US$197 million (approximately RM888 million) in bonus payments to everyone involved in the production, including choreographers and dancers.

“The Eras Tour” kicked off in the US in March 2023 and concluded in December 2024. The tour spanned 149 shows across five continents, with a reported attendance of 10.1 million fans. The tour is the highest-grossing tour of all time, beating tours from the likes of Coldplay and Beyonce. Experts also say the shows have had a significant financial impact, adding up to US$28 billion (approximately RM127 billion) to the worldwide economy.
Given the success of the tour, it seems apt for Taylor to give back to her hardworking crew with a generous bonus. What are your thoughts on this?
