If you’re planning to visit Suria KLCC via the LRT, you might want to reconsider, as Rapid KL announced earlier (Thursday, 2nd January) that the station will be temporarily closed and trains will not stop at this station until further notice. The reason behind the closure is believed to be a small fire that broke out at the station.
According to several social media posts, passengers were instructed to evacuate the station when smoke was detected in the area. The station’s shutter doors were immediately closed once everyone had safely exited.

Firefighters arrived shortly at the scene to investigate the situation. Bernama reported that the pump switch box panel at the LRT station had caught fire, as seen in the photos below. Thankfully, no injuries or casualties were reported. The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department will be conducting further investigation.
If you’re not sure how to get home or visit Suria KLCC, RapidKL has provided alternative routes for passengers. From their official statement, passengers are advised to take the MRT line train either at Persiaran KLCC or Ampang Park. Passengers could also use the free shuttle bus service that will be provided or take other alternative modes of transport.
