Did everyone have a Holly Jolly Christmas this year? Many have returned to their hometowns to celebrate the holidays with loved ones, while those who don’t celebrate Christmas have enjoyed some of the fantastic festive sales promotions on offer this month. Not to mention, they’ve had the chance to take Instagram-worthy photos with the stunning decorations at shopping centres across the country.
Everyone has their own way to celebrate Christmas, including our local celebrities. In no particular order, here’s how some of them marked the festive season this year:
Sean Lee
Host and actor Sean Lee had a pretty chill Christmas this year, celebrating the holiday with loved ones at home. “Here’s to making the season merry, bright, and maybe just a little less stressful,” he wrote in his captions.
Elizabeth Tan
Singer-actress Elizabeth Tan posted a photo of herself on Instagram in a cute Christmas outfit in front of a Christmas tree with her pet cat. Not only that, but the Malaysian star also entertained fans with a dance video on Instagram Story and TikTok.

Yazmin Aziz
@yazminaziz Merry Christmas to those celebrating ❤️🎄 #FYP #MusikDiTikTok #Cover @Sarry Khaled🎸 @Joshua David
Singer Yazmin Aziz always finds a way to keep her fans entertained, especially during the holidays. The 23-year-old posted a video on her Instagram of herself performing a cover of the classic “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus” song, which she described as one of her favourites.
Chryseis Tan & SM Faliq Nasimuddin
Malaysian heiress Chryseis Tan (陈雪铃) and her family decided to celebrate Christmas this year in Osaka, Japan. She posted a carousel of photos of herself and her husband, SM Faliq Nasimuddin, along with their two adorable children, posing next to a large Christmas tree in what appears to be the lobby of the hotel where they are staying for the holidays.
Marion Caunter & SM Nasarudin
Marion Caunter has been keeping her father’s tradition alive by celebrating Christmas with her family, even after converting to Islam. The former television host posted a carousel of photos of herself and her family in their best formal outfits, posing in front of their extravagant Christmas decorations at home. She once told Kosmo, “[My father] would make sure we were together to celebrate Christmas every year, it means a lot to my father and I will continue to honour him by continuing his tradition with my children”.
Damian Mikhail
A few years ago, local singer Damian Mikhail was criticised for celebrating Christmas because of his Muslim faith. This year, the vocalist decided to do things differently. Rather than posting a photo of him and his family, Damian took this opportunity to remind everyone about Palestine. “Wishing a joyous celebration to all Christian brothers and sisters from Malaysia, Palestine and all over the world who celebrate a happy Christmas 🎄. May we all witness a FREE Palestine really soon,” he said.
