Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport Bukit Bintang City Center (BBCC) launched multiple new outlets recently, and we got to attend some of the openings. The shopping centre has certainly become the go-to destination for fans of Japanese culture, anime, manga, and cutting-edge youth fashion.

With a series of exclusive pop-ups, specialty stores, and collaborative spaces, LaLaport BBCC is the mall that promises something exciting for everyone. During our tour around the mall, we checked out some of their recently-launched stores so let’s learn a little more about them.

Animate Pop-Up Store

Last month, the much-anticipated “Animate MALAYSIA POP-UP STORE” opened at LaLaport BBCC’s Gourmet Street, marking the first of its kind in Malaysia. This 103-square-meter store offers 30,000+ anime and manga-related goods from Japan, capturing the hearts of local anime enthusiasts. The store will remain open until 31st May 2025, giving fans the chance to access official character merchandise like never before.

Doko Koko Nijisanji Virtual Liver Café

LaLaport BBCC is already a hotbed for pop culture events, regularly attracting crowds of 30,000 visitors. Each month, Doko Koko collaborates with different anime studios or companies and is currently collaborating with Nijisanji ENG for a Nijisanji Virtual Liver Café. As seen in the photos above, the food on the menu was absolutely divine.

Youth-focused Japanese Apparel Stores Are Now Open
