The Crown Prince of Johor, His Royal Highness Tunku Ismail Idris, is known for his opulent lifestyle. One of his most well-known collections is his fleet of luxurious cars, which don’t just collect dust in the garage because the prince is always seen driving them around the state.
However, his lavish assemblage doesn’t end there. The Crown Prince’s wrist, which is typically adorned with a striking piece, has been the subject of scrutiny from luxury watch enthusiasts. Here’s a list of the most eye-catching pieces His Royal Highness has worn over the years:
1. Patek Philippe Nautilus

Starting strong, we can see His Royal Highness donning Patek Philippe’s Nautilus in Tiffany blue, a limited edition collaboration between the two luxury brands. The most recent price of the watch we could find was in late 2022 when it was auctioned for US$6.5 million (~RM28 million), while its original price was around US$52,000 (~RM230,000).
Due to its discontinuation in January 2022, its resale value skyrocketed above the initial retail price more than 100 times. Given that just 170 of these watches were made globally, it is understandable why they are highly sought after, and our fortunate prince was able to obtain one!
2. IWC Pilot Chronograph Top Gun

When the prince is carrying out his duties, we often see him wearing this particular watch. Whether it be military training or coming down to JDT’s field, we can assure you that the IWC Pilot Chronograph is his go-to watch. Costing anywhere from US$5,000 (~RM22,000) to US$11,000 (~RM48,000), it truly is a pricey but timeless piece.
Not to mention all the functionalities on the watch, displaying the date and day of the week, and it even has a soft iron inner case for protection against magnetic fields. With all those combined in a singular piece, it’s no wonder why it’s our crown prince’s favourite!
3. Rolex Daytona

The Rolex Daytona in Everose Gold is another watch that His Royal Highness often dons, but this isn’t the only Daytona piece in his collection. The Prince was also spotted sporting the identical watch but in rainbow and gold, which retailed for roughly US$720,000 (~RM3.2 million) and US$400,000 (~RM1.7 million), respectively. The reason His Highness has multiple colours of the same piece is obvious given its sleek and elegant appearance—it’s simply too good to resist!
4. Patek Philippe Aquanaut

It seems His Royal Highness can’t get enough of Patek Philippe because the ultra-luxury brand makes its way back into the list! Here we have the Aquanaut in rose gold, a colour the prince presumably prefers. This fine wristwatch costs about US$145,000 (~RM645,000), with a multiplied resale value as there are only 1,000 pieces available worldwide and a waitlist of 3-5 years for one. It’s truly amazing to see our Crown Prince wearing such an exquisite timepiece, looking super fashionable!
Needless to say, this isn’t the end of his collection, but these are some of our favourites! Did we miss any of yours?
