In November, local singer Diorlying Tan (大穎) dropped a bombshell allegation against her ex-boyfriend Firdhaus Farmizi (菲道尔), revealing that the two broke up because the latter was seeing another girl. It’s been a few weeks since then, so could the two be ready to put the past behind them?
Recently, the couple made their first public appearance together, performing at the finale of the Astro’s “Let’s Go, Big Shots! (歌手 崛起吧!)”. After the show concluded, Diorlying shared a lengthy letter on her Instagram account, expressing her thoughts about the recent happenings. In the post, the singer spoke about trying to live life to the fullest lately, seemingly wanting to move on from the past. She also talked about speculations and rumours, saying the “unhealthy ones” should be ignored.
At one point, Diorlying also talked about her friendship with Priscilla Abby (蔡恩雨) and how the fellow singer gave her some great advice. However, at the end of her letter, Diorlying wrote, “Everyone makes mistakes and is irrational, but everyone deserves to start over.” Many believed this sentence was directed at her ex-boyfriend Firdhaus, interpreting this sentence as the media personality forgiving him and wanting to move on.
At the same time, Firdhaus has also started returning to social media after taking a brief hiatus following the allegations. The singer recently archived his Instagram account, leaving only reels of his performances and a post for the Astro singing programme. Many see this move as the singer wanting to leave the past behind him and start anew. However, it’s worth noting that the 26-year-old had also removed his apology letter to Diorlying.
Netizens have since shared their reaction to this change in the comments section of his most recent post. Some showed support for Firdhaus, welcoming his return. Many also said they forgive him for his scandal as long as he continues to show dedication to his work. However, many were still unable to completely forgive Firdhaus for his actions, saying he was still wrong for being unfaithful to Diorlying.
