We’ve heard many dating rumours this year, ranging from K-pop idols to Malaysian singers. However, they always seemed to stay just as rumours and were quickly forgotten about. Although the year’s coming to an end, netizens still aren’t done speculating about idols’ relationships.
Just yesterday (Thursday, 5 December 2024), former After School member Nana (나나) and model Chae Jong-seok (채정석) were reported to be dating. Fans have been speculating about their relationship since June, when both posted a “lovestagram” — sharing matching pictures simultaneously as a subtle way of announcing their relationship.
Nobody was able to piece together the clues based on the pictures alone, but both recently appeared in Baek Ji-young’s (백지영) “Indeed, It Was Love (그래 맞아)” music video, where they portrayed a loving couple. Fans suspected it was too convincing to be just acting, which led them to investigate further and uncover the “lovestagram”. To add to this, the rumoured couple also shared intimate behind-the-scenes clips from the music video on their respective Instagram accounts, showing close physical contact between them.
Unlike previous idol dating rumours, netizens have expressed their thoughts on the alleged relationship between Nana and Jong-seok, offering their support. Many commented on how well they complemented each other, sending their best wishes. However, as it has not been officially confirmed, some people believe it may be a promotional stunt for the new music video.
Both of their respective companies have only said that they will not peer into their private lives and advise fans to leave it be as well. If they are together, then we would like to congratulate them and hope they stick with each other for a long time. What do you think about this?
