Ibu Ruby’s
Ibu Ruby’s is Bangsar’s newest eatery, serving Indo-Malay flavours that nurture the body and soul. Located at Persiaran Ara Kiri in Lucky Garden, this new establishment is where you can go for tasteful Indonesian-Malaysian delights made from scratch with fresh ingredients and no commercial pastes or MSG.
The restaurant’s signature dish is the Nasi Lemak Ayam Kalasan, featuring fragrant and fluffy basmati coconut rice, peanuts, cucumbers, fried anchovies, egg, sambal and a flavourful spice-fried whole chicken leg. Another chef-recommended dish is the Nasi Sela Beef Dendeng, which comes with turmeric-infused rice, acar (pickles) and a satisfying portion of stewed beef.
Of course, no Indo-Malay meal will be complete without some sambal to spice things up. Ibu Ruby’s has four sambals on the menu: Sambal Tomato, Sambal Hijau, Sambal Mangga and Sambal Kelapa. The menu also offers other side dishes, from Beef Rendang and Udang Gulai Lemak (Prawn Curry) to Terung Bakar Sambal (Grilled Eggplant with Sambal) and Bergedil. Ibu Ruby’s also expressed plans to expand their offerings in the future.
We also recommend trying their unique drink selections – the refreshingly sweet Teh Malaya and the tangy Jus Tiga Rasa that packs a punch. While their dessert menu is limited, the Pisang Bakar with grilled banana, palm syrup and vanilla ice cream topped with pistachio was a sweet way to end a fulfilling meal.
- Location: 1, Lucky Garden, Persiaran Ara Kiri, Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 52200
- Opening Hours: Monday to Sunday, 11am -11pm
