Recently, netizens spilt some ‘tea’ on the popular tea brand CHAGEE over certain allegations. Not only was the company’s official statement a mess, but they apparently caused a mess in a customer’s car, as actual tea was spilt. As previously reported, CHAGEE is currently running a ‘Tear & Win’ contest, where customers who buy any drink in a specific cup will find a small paper stub with a random prize printed on it.
This man did just that and was definitely surprised when it came time to tear the perforated section on the lower half of the cup. However, instead of a small paper stub, his drink started spilling over his car. Here’s what happened:

A woman, known as Tiffany, posted a video on Xiaohongshu of her and her partner’s experience with the CHAGEE ‘Tear & Win’ contest. As seen in the screenshots above, the man, identified as Yap Jun Hao, enthusiastically peeled off the bottom of his cup when, suddenly, his drink started spilling out, causing a huge mess in the car. The video has since gone viral with netizens being both amused and confused over the incident.
Some believed that the customer should have finished his drink first, while others reminded everyone that the order came in a special cup designed to separate the drink and the prize. It was later discovered that there was a leakage in the cup that caused the drink to fill up in the prize compartment. The viral clip managed to catch CHAGEE’s attention and the brand has since apologised for the inconvenience. Based on their response in the comments section, it can be assumed that the company is offering some form of compensation for the incident.

If you’re wondering about the car’s condition, Tiffany told local media that the vehicle is fine and that they’ll get it properly clean soon. After this experience, it’s probably best not to open any food or beverages in the car to avoid unnecessary spillage.
