Fans already know that actress Eyka Farhana has been dating footballer Akhyar Rashid for about five years. The two met after he first DM-ed her on Instagram, and they’ve been together ever since. They’ve been through challenging times together, particularly when the athlete was attacked and robbed in Terengganu earlier this year.
Many have wondered when the couple will tie the knot, as they’ve never revealed their plans for the future – that is, until very recently. Yesterday (Monday, 4th November), the actress excitedly shared the news that she and her partner are officially engaged.
Eyka Farhana posted a carousel of photos on her Instagram with a caption that simply read, “Salam, my fiancé.” The first photo showed the 29-year-old displaying the ring on her finger, with her partner standing behind her holding the ring box. Swiping through the album, it can be inferred that the engagement ceremony was attended by close friends and family at an undisclosed location.
It was also revealed that the couple have been keeping this secret for quite some time – three months, to be exact. In one of the photos, it was revealed that the couple have been engaged since 4th August of this year and have kept it a secret from their fans. It is unclear why they chose not to announce their engagement sooner, but regardless, the reaction has been overwhelmingly positive.
Shortly after posting the photos, many of Eyka’s fans and celebrity friends, including actress Sharifah Amani, singer Mimi Fly and model Scha Al-Yahya, congratulated the young star on her engagement to her soon-to-be husband. At the time of writing, there have been no updates on when or where the wedding ceremony will take place but we’re sure that it will be a beautiful and joyous event.
