Many of us can, unfortunately, develop a trauma with a place due to our past experiences – and celebrities aren’t spared from this either. Recently, local songstress Shila Amzah revealed that her family trip to Penang is her effort to overcome a past trauma.
The singer recently shared photos of her trip to Penang with her husband, Ubai Mz, and two children, Seth Uwais and Rhea Akira. In the post, the family of four was seen happily spending time with each other while they explored the island. However, in the post, Shila revealed that the trip also helped her overcome a past trauma related to Penang.

In her post, the 34-year-old wrote, “Many of you may not know this, (but) Penang traumatised me. There were a few incidents in Penang that haunted me, and I never got to overcome it for more than 10 years.” Shila also said that she tried to get past her trauma three years ago but failed miserably. However, thanks to her husband and kids, the singer could make new memories to overwrite her past.
Shila never addressed what her trauma was but said she can now enjoy Penang as she managed to create new happy memories, thanks to Ubai’s help. She also voiced her gratitude to the influencer, saying she can never thank him enough for being in her life. She also shared how her autistic son Seth became a great help with soothing his teething baby sister during the trip.

In the comments sections, many fans were surprised to hear about Shila’s trauma. However, they were happy she could overcome it with Ubai’s help. Many also noted that Shila seemed happier since marrying her current husband, adding that he’s a great companion for the singer. Many also complimented her teaching style, saying she’s doing a great job in raising Seth and Rhea.
Shila has previously shared her gratitude for her husband, so it’s safe to say that Ubai is a great partner for the public figure. Whatever her trauma was, we’re glad to hear that the singer is no longer scared, and we hope she can make happier memories at Penang from now on.
