The week of 24th October 2024 marked a momentous and joyous occasion for the Pahang Royal Family as they celebrated the union of Tengku Muhammad Iskandar Shah, the second son of Sultan Pahang, with his beloved bride, Tengku Natasha Puteri Tengku Adnan, the daughter of former Federal Territories Minister, Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan.
The royal wedding, steeped in tradition and elegance, commenced at 8:50pm and took place in the grand setting of Balai Mahkota, Istana Abdulaziz, in Kuantan. The beautifully orchestrated ceremony was attended by 350 carefully selected guests, including dignitaries, close family, and friends. Tengku Natasha Puteri, known for her grace and poise, dazzled in a stunning blue traditional wedding kebaya, while Tengku Muhammad Iskandar Shah looked every bit the royal groom, dressed in elegant blue Baju Melayu attire.

A delightful observation during the wedding was the behaviour of the royal family, particularly the bride and groom, who were seen joining their guests in helping themselves to food during the reception, breaking away from the usual protocol observed at most Malay weddings, where food is typically served to the bride and groom at their seats. This gesture of humility and camaraderie made the royal family more relatable to the public, earning them admiration and affection from those who watched the proceedings from afar.
Meanwhile, one endearing and somewhat humorous moment came from Tengku Muhammad Fahad, the youngest sibling of Tengku Muhammad Iskandar Shah, who was visibly nervous during the “Upacara Merenjis” (blessing ceremony).

In a video clip that quickly made its rounds on social media, could be seen constantly adjusting his “Sampin” (a traditional Malay waistcloth) and fidgeting nervously with his hands as he prepared to give his blessings. His tense expression and frequent movements, such as stretching his arms to relieve anxiety, were both relatable and heartwarming.
The royal wedding was undoubtedly a majestic affair, filled with love and tradition. The little moments that went viral captured the hearts of those in attendance and beyond. As the couple embarks on this new chapter of their lives together, we wish them a lifetime filled with love, joy, and prosperity.
