Legendary pop singer Britney Spears recently stunned the world with a new marriage declaration through her Instagram account, following her divorce from Sam Asghari in August of last year. Fans were initially eager to discover who the new “Mr. Right” was, only to find out that Britney had married herself, with no groom in sight.
In the Instagram video announcing her unique marriage, Britney captioned, “The day I married myself. Bringing it back because it might seem embarrassing or stupid, but I think it’s the most brilliant thing I’ve ever done!”. In the video set to the tune of Sting’s “Fields of Gold”, the 42-year-old performer can be seen dressed in a white silky lace gown with a long veil. She completed her bridal look with a gold necklace and her signature smoky black eyeliner.
While Britney expressed happiness and contentment with her act of self-love, fans had mixed reactions. Many expressed concern, questioning if this was a cry for help or simply an act of self-empowerment. Others applauded her for embracing self-love, with some even saying they would do the same if they were the “Toxic” singer, celebrating the idea of appreciating oneself fully.
Now that the pop icon is entering her fourth “marriage”, let’s hope this one will stand the test of time and last a lifetime.
