Cedar Restaurant at Impiana Hotel KLCC has just introduced an exciting new menu. Nestled in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, this chic spot has long been known for its blend of luxury and accessibility. With the hotel’s reputation for hospitality, the new menu had some high expectations to meet and it does so brilliantly, thanks to Executive Sous Chef Jonathan Heng’s creative flair.
Designed to showcase a mix of elegant flavours with innovative techniques, the menu takes diners on a culinary journey that balances tradition with modern sophistication. From carefully curated seafood dishes to indulgent meats, there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re a seasoned foodie or just in the mood for something special, Cedar’s new offerings promise an elevated dining experience.
Let’s start with the Hokkaido Scallop Tartare (RM88), which felt like a light yet luxurious dish. The fresh scallops are paired with a chilled almond soup, Ajoblanco, and topped with Oscietra caviar. It’s creamy, a little briny, and a perfect way to begin a meal that promises refinement.
Next, the Crispy Shrimp (RM68) was a hit. Crispy on the outside with a juicy inside, served with a refreshing kaffir lime mayo. The ebiko garnish gave it a little pop of flavour that kept things interesting without overwhelming the delicate shrimp.
If you’re a fan of seafood, the Grilled Spanish Octopus (RM98) is a must-try. The octopus was perfectly tender, accompanied by baby potatoes and a lemon herb vinaigrette that added a zesty kick, while the spicy merguez sausage gave it an extra layer of bold flavour.
For pasta lovers, the Rigatoni al Salmone (RM58) is a comforting choice. This dish features smoked salmon coated in a velvety tomato cream sauce, with freshly grated Parmesan cheese adding a savoury kick. The combination of the smoky salmon and rich, creamy sauce makes for a hearty and satisfying main course that feels both indulgent and familiar. It’s a great option if you’re craving something comforting yet flavorful.
Of course, the star of the show for meat lovers is the Australian Wagyu Striploin MB7 (RM305). It comes with truffle mashed potatoes, which were to die for, broccolini, and a morel cream sauce. The beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the accompanying sides elevated the dish without stealing the spotlight.
In short, Cedar’s new menu feels like a journey through thoughtful flavours, balancing decadence with freshness. Whether you’re looking to treat yourself or impress someone special, it’s worth a visit!
