Earlier this year, Singaporean actor and influencer Simon Kung, famously known as Simonboy, officially tied the knot with his partner Chloe Eong. The couple married at The New Charis Mission in July and held a grand wedding ceremony at the Concorde Hotel Singapore later that month.
Although it hasn’t even been a year since their wedding, the internet celebrity decided to celebrate his relationship by doing something special for his wife. Here’s what he did:
A few days ago, Simon decided to surprise his wife with a very special (and expensive) gift as appreciation for her unwavering support over the years. “Three years ago, when I decided to come back into the spotlight, a lot of people looked down on me because I was an addict. Thankfully, my family and a few close friends believed in me and that includes my wife. To celebrate our marriage and her new business venture, I’m going to buy her a present,” he said in his latest TikTok post.
The content creator then took his wife to a spot next to a car park to surprise her with a gift. Chloe, still in disbelief, attempted to guess the car model, which was covered by a black cloth. After a few guesses, Simon eventually revealed the vehicle, which turned out to be a Jaguar XE. “Thank you for your company for the past three years and may the next three years be good to us. If everything else fails, we will make do with what we have,” he told his spouse, who promised her commitment to their relationship.
According to AsiaOne, the car model has been discontinued in mid-2024, with the last recorded price being SGD$280,099 (RM921,760). Fortunately for Simon, he managed to purchase the vehicle for SGD$60,000 (RM196,826). “I’m very willing to give her anything and everything because she has given me her entire life in this marriage. So, why not?” he told the news outlet.
Shortly after posting the video, netizens congratulated the couple on their marriage and Simon for his journey of being sober. A few commented on how blessed the influencer is to have his wife by his side during the darkest moments of his life.
