Last month, chaos erupted in Kuala Lumpur shopping centres when American YouTuber and streamer IShowSpeed, also known as Speed, visited Malaysia as part of his Southeast Asia tour. Despite the mayhem, the influencer had a great time meeting fans and sampling local delicacies. One of the highlights was trying the famous Ramly burger at Bob’s Burger stall in Bangsar.
The stall Speed visited quickly went viral, attracting customers and content creators eager to order from the vendor. However, it seems the owner’s 15 minutes of fame has come to an end, as the store was ordered to close down. Here’s what happened:

Yesterday (Wednesday, 3rd October), a netizen known as FoodyFun posted a video of their visit to the viral Bob’s Burger stall near the Bangsar LRT station, which gained popularity through IShowSpeed. In a sudden turn of events, it was revealed that the stall had been shut down and seized by Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL). As shown in the video below, DBKL’s vans and trucks were seen parked at the side of the road, presumably to collect goods from the burger stall.
The owner also took to Instagram Story to inform customers about the closure. “Hi guys, Bob’s Burger is temporarily closed as our stall has been seized by DBKL. We will keep you updated on this matter. Thank you for all your support,” he wrote. The reason for DBKL seizing the stall was not disclosed, but it might be due to licensing issues or not complying with the rules set for street vendors.
Netizens reacted to the announcement and TikTok post with sadness over the closure. Many called out DBKL for being unfair to the affected business owner, noting that there are plenty of illegally run establishments in the area.

At the time of writing, there have been no reports of other businesses in the vicinity being closed down or raided by DBKL. However, it was previously reported that certain illegal vendors near KLCC allegedly bribed DBKL to let them off so could this be the case as to why the stalls in Bangsar are still up and running despite violations? Whatever the case, we hope the owner of Bob’s Burger will be able to return to work soon once this situation is resolved.
