Recently, there were allegations that the two have secretly finalised their separation and are waiting to announce the news.
According to Chinese news portals, the couple have entered the final stages of their divorce procedures. This news suggests that Michelle and Chen Xiao are officially over, though the two never publicised their current status. Shockingly, there are rumours the two will only announce their divorce next year, after the Chinese New Year holiday in late January 2025.
In response to this odd allegation, sources said the wait is so that Michelle and Chen Xiao can complete their filming without any negative press. Some also said they’re “banned” from announcing the divorce because it might affect their endorsement deals. Unfortunately, only time will tell whether this rumour is legitimate and what Michelle and Chen Xiao’s current relationship status is.
Neither Michelle nor Chen Xiao responded to the speculations, but the actress’ recent update did pique netizens’ interest. The 41-year-old commented on a promotional post for the newly released movie, “The Hutong Cowboy (爆款好人)”, where she wrote, “The world needs some good people and some good laughs”. While it appears that the post was related to the movie, many wondered if the message was also for herself, given the recent fiasco about her marriage.
