Contrary to reports online, Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur is not up for sale.
Home to Malaysia’s first-ever Hard Rock Cafe, it was rumoured that the iconic hotel might get demolished to make way for another project. There were also reports that Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur was looking to sell its property for approximately RM700 million.

Tan Sri Sallehuddin Mohamed, Chairman of Ampang Hotel Sdn Bhd, is here to set the record straight. The official statement reads:
“The owners and shareholders wish to assure our valued guests, partners and the community that Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur is not for sale.
Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur continues to thrive, thanks to our dedicated team and loyal guests. Our business is performing exceptionally well and we are seeing strong results. Our shareholders are satisfied with our progress and the direction we are taking.
Rebranded from the former Merlin Hotel which has stood tall for the past 67 years since Malaysia’s independence, Concorde Kuala Lumpur is fully committed to its continued operation and legacy. Now into our 33rd year in the hospitality business, Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur is here to stay. We remain focused on enhancing our services and expanding our offerings to better serve our valued clientele. We appreciate the continued support and look forward to welcoming guests for many years to come.”
