A few months ago, Hong Kong singer and MIRROR member Edan Lui (呂爵安) made headlines after a fan spotted him in Europe with Malaysian actress Lin Min-Chen (林明禎). The 27-year-old denied the rumours then, saying the two are only friends – but fast forward to September, and Edan may have changed his mind.
Edan has recently opened up about his relationship with the 34-year-old actress. In an interview, the singer said that he and Lin Min-Chen are in the early stages of a relationship and getting to know each other better. He also said he’d share any good news if the two started going steady. While he didn’t directly admit to dating the Malaysian star, his following comments led many to believe he’s serious about starting a relationship.

When asked whether he’ll meet up with Lin Min-Chen when she’s in Hong Kong later this month, the singer replied, “If I want to meet, I’ll ask her out on my own, there is no need to (spread rumours). Everyone, please have mercy (on us). Ask me if you want to know anything, don’t make things difficult for her.” Edan’s stern comments towards the reporters prompted many to believe he’s protective of Lin Min-Chen, perhaps to show his feelings towards her.
The MIRROR member also took to Threads to personally address his comments about Lin Min-Chen. In his post, Edan wrote, “Min-Chen is a great person. I like her very much, and I am pursuing her romantically. I also hope that there will be room for our relationship to develop in the future. But for now, Min-Chen and I are just friends, nothing more. I hope everyone can give us some space and stop making any guesses.”
His response received mixed reactions, with many supporting his stance and wishing him and Lin Min-Chen the best. However, some MIRROR fans have criticised Edan, voicing their disappointment with him openly pursuing a female artist because they claim it brings negative attention to his group. However, Lin Min Chen hasn’t responded to the matter.

We can only wish Edan and Lin Min-Chen all the best in their relationship – but we hope to hear good news soon. What are your thoughts on the 7-year age gap?
