We all know that revered Hong Kong actor Louis Koo (古天樂) is a multifaceted star who can play various characters. However, how does he fare when playing a dancer? Fans recently uncovered Louis’ past as a “dancer”, and here’s what he has to say about it:
The actor recently attended an event for a luxury beauty brand when he was asked about his pre-debut music video gig. Before making a name for himself in the movie industry, Louis appeared as the male lead in singer Priscilla Chan’s (陳慧嫻) 1993 music video for “Dancing Boy”. The actor, then 22/23 years old, played a happy-go-lucky dancer who busted a few moves throughout the music video.

Reporters at the event had asked Louis about the music and his response to netizens joking that his acting career got in the way of him being a dancer. The actor wittily responded, saying, “Yes, I should’ve focused on dancing since the beginning”. However, when asked if he’s thinking about releasing a dance song to capitalize on the music video’s new-found fame, he laughed the thought off, saying, “I have no interest at all. I’m not young anymore, so I’ll leave the dancing to the young people”.
Louis also said that he’s no longer interested in singing in general, revealing that he doesn’t even want to sing when asked by friends. However, the 54-year-old, who has released a few albums in the past, noted that it was only recently that he started to shy away from singing, admitting that he would previously hog the microphone at a karaoke joint.

It looks like we won’t be getting that Louis Koo dance number anytime soon – but thankfully, we can still watch him dancing around in the Priscilla Chan music video. However, perhaps when the video goes even more viral, Louis can consider a remake for the fans.
