Last month, Malaysian-born comedian Nigel Ng, better known as his alter ego Uncle Roger, announced that he’ll be opening his first-ever restaurant in his home country. It was later revealed earlier this month that the outlet would be launched at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur after photos of the dining spot’s development circulated on social media.
However, there hasn’t been much information on the official grand opening until very recently. Yesterday (Monday, 12th August), the entertainer posted a video on his social media pages to share more details about the restaurant and his plans to break a Guinness World Record. Here’s what he said:
Nigel Ng, as his character Uncle Roger, has officially announced that his restaurant at Pavilion KL will be opening next month on 11th September. The comedian clarified that although the menu has yet to be finalised, customers can anticipate Fried Rice being one of the main dishes to be served at the eatery. If you’re wondering if the restaurant will be Halal certified, the establishment would first need to meet all the requirements to earn the certification.
Not to worry though cause according to the post, the restaurant will be Muslim-friendly, meaning that all ingredients used will be Halal. In celebration of the restaurant’s grand opening, Uncle Roger shared his plans to break a Guinness World Record by having all his fans dress up as him at the venue on 14th September. “The first 300 people to arrive as me will get special discount vouchers for my restaurant,” he said.

Do note that the special Guinness World Record event will be filmed for a YouTube video so if you want to be featured in the content and get a special voucher then be sure to prepare all the necessary clothing items as listed by the KL-born star. Will you be participating in breaking the world record?
