K-pop fans worldwide were thrilled when it was officially announced that 2NE1 (투애니원) will embark on a reunion tour next year. After their surprise Coachella performance, many have been manifesting for the iconic girl group to release new music after years of disbandment.
Now that the tour is confirmed, the struggle to secure tickets has begun. Fans have always been well aware of the pain of not securing concert seats for a show but who knew that idols themselves would experience such difficulty, especially for their own concert? Here’s what happened:

Earlier this week, 2NE1 leader CL (씨엘) posted an Instagram story of the group attempting to buy their own concert tickets at the Olympic Hall in Seoul online. Sadly, even the performers themselves couldn’t get past the queue of over 400, 000 people as one of the members was frantically clicking the mouse to confirm their purchase but to no avail.
Fans were mostly amused by the girls’ failed attempt to secure tickets to see their own show while others joked that they hoped 2NE1 would be able to attend the concert. Some appreciated the members for doing so as it would give idols a better understanding of the fans’ struggle to purchase tickets to see them perform live.

Meanwhile, many have been worrying about 2NE1’s Seoul concert venue capacity saying that it may be too small. YG Entertainment released a statement to explain that the venue was chosen due to the fact that the larger ones were already fully booked on the given date. It was said that the company originally wanted the group to start their tour in Japan but the vocalists insisted that they should kick it off in Seoul, Korea.
“I will repay the fans with high-quality performances and come back with better news in the future so please look forward to it,” the CEO wrote. With a legendary group like 2NE1, we’re sure that they will undoubtedly give fans the best night of their lives regardless of the venue. Will Malaysia also get to witness the icons perform live for this tour?
